Nuwara Eliya
A hill station at 1,900 metres that the British built to feel like Surrey, surrounded on all sides by the tea estates that pay for it.

- Tea estates · Cool weather · Horton Plains
Bring a jumper. It drops to ten degrees at night and most guesthouses have no heating.
Horton Plains and World’s End start from here, but the viewpoint clouds over by about nine in the morning — a six o’clock start or don’t bother. The tea factories are the better use of an afternoon.
